Cafe Rider
One of the first Specialty Coffee places in Dubai Cafe Rider is a firm favourite for Specialty Coffee lovers and motorbike lovers. Located in a double height warehouse in Al Quoz the warehouse plays host to a wide range of social activities as well as offering a sociable place to work, meet up or catch up with coffee and bike enthusiasts. It's a friendly environment where you are encouraged to pull up a stool at the bar and chat to the Baristas as they expertly brew your favourite coffee or make recommendations dependant on what you are fancying.

Look out for the in-house roastery - it's a great addition!
Brewing
Specialty Single origin coffee roasted in-house.

At the Coffee Bar
Espresso | Aeropress | Hario v60 | Chemex | Cold Brew (Toddy and Oji drip)
Spirit Raw (limited edition in brushed metal and brass details finish) and a Speedster.
Both built by Need Van Der Westen in the Netherlands.

Accolades
Head Barista Dima Grekhov was UAE Barista Champion in 2014 and represented the UAE at the World Championships in Seattle. He was also one of the judges in the 2015 UAE Championships. Unfortunately Dima is no longer with Cafe Rider, but their barista's continue to well at competitions.

Food Menu
The recent refurbishment means there's a kitchen on site and a reasonably full menu, although I haven't as yet eaten anything at Cafe Rider.

Cool Stuff
A little shoppers paradise for bikers and those who love cool stuff. Selection changes regularly but we often spot branded T-Shirts, Helmets, Cool sunglasses and some beautiful leather bags and satchels.
WiFi + Free Water + Kid Friendly + Parking

Updated : October 2018

Personally, I'm not such a big fan of the new look and revamp which took place over the summer. I preferred the original Cafe Rider which was raw, urban and a real hub for coffee lovers. Now it has more of a feel of a work/social hub and whilst there is plenty of Specialty coffee on offer the reduced size of the barista bar makes it more of a place to grab a chair and sit rather than grab a bar stool and chat to the barista's. The addition of food is great if that's what you are visiting for, but for me it's never been about visiting Cafe Rider for the food, it was more the Specialty Coffee, the unique urban feel and coffee talk with the baristas and Dima in particular. Ahhh nostalgia :).
